Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
I love to knit, crochet and embroider.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
I learned to crochet from my step-grannie when I was 15. I tried to knit when I was 10 but my tension was too tight and I dropped a lot of stitches. I learned it for good from another young Navy wife while DH was in the US Navy. Embroidering has been a love for a very long time. I recently picked that back up again and have been adding beads to my work.
Let us know you are not a spammer. Is there anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group?
I'm definitely not a spam bot. I love to cook, garden, read, listen to music, play and live with my DH of 42 years.

Good Morning Lorraine! Talk about beautiful work - you do beautifully! Sent you out a check so you should be receiving it soon so then I'll actually own a creation made by you - yea! When I get some down time I will respond to you last long email. I tried leaving a comment on your blog but for some reason it will not accept it... Seems like that is happening a lot lately to others too.

Thank you for visiting my blog and in answer to your questions about my TAST cover it is about 12" by 10".  My pages will be about 10" by 8" with a 2" column on the right for sample stitches(by the book ones)  Materials will be whatever I've got and a few additions.

At the moment, I'm busily dyeing & painting threads and pieces of aida.

I may just form a sampler - Still undecided about giving crazy quilting a try but it may be too much at once :)  I'll see.

Anyway,  thanks once again and I'll be ogling all of our efforts in the coming year

Wishes and stitches

Barbara

Thanks! I found instructions here: http://www.embroiderersguild.com/stitch/projects/encrustingcalico/index.html

It's such fun, very organic! I think I prefer the monochrome over colour myself but you can play with beads and different threads, find a use for ugly buttons.... love your wire crocheting!
