"Thanks for all the positive comments.  Tina the images are printed on the cotton fabric and then I embroider it. This is a technique I have learned from Di van Niekerk from dicraft. She uses it extensively in her silk ribbon panels too."

Elza, have you visited Di's blog lately? She has posted the most amazing work by a Russian ribbon embroidery artist. It is absolutely stunning and so fluid! I never imagined ribbon embroidery to be so versatile. A slideshow of your work is flashing by me as I write  this to you :o), I'm in awe of your work also! Just beautiful. xo

Elza,  Thank you so much for your words.  I listened to your suggestions and they were very helpful.  I felt so close to this little piece when I was working on it.  I was quite sad when he was finished. I come back to your site many times a week to gaze at your little tortoise and strawberry.  Thank you for inspiring me.

Hello Elza, I could sit and study your work all day.  It is just so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing such beautiful work. It is like going to a museum with a sketch pad and enjoying the masters. I have so many questions as I examine each piece. "How does she do that, how did she get the branch to look so real, how amazing her stitches are"....etc.

It is inspiring work to just look upon with joy.

Hi Elza,

You have done a beautiful job with all your birds... the peacock is my favorite....

I would love to learn more about what type of fabric you used, what medium you used to paint/digitally transfer the background and which threads you used...

Thanks for posting such beautiful work... it made my day!
