Keith, I have been totally remiss in answering your question about books. I know where there are lots of reviews. Please forgive - I'm sick and in bed pretty much full time atm. I shall send you links when I can :-)

Blog:
http://elmsleyrose.blogspot.com/
My blog is devoted to describing the progress of my embroidery, and calligraphy and illumination work.

I have spoken about only recently haven taken up embroidery but yet- here are photos of work dating back to 1990 (and even school in the 80s!). But they are exclusively bargello, and two pieces of stumpwork in about 2007/2008. I didn't know split stitch, or stem stich, or anything else like that, so I didn't regard myself as being able to do embroidery - just a bit of bargello, and just starting stumpwork.
It wasn't until the end of 2008 that I seriously took up embroidery and starting learning what is in all the books, and got some proper supplies :-)
I hope I didn't sound like I was bigging myself up - starting the Long and Short Stitch and Elizabethan stuff and yet never having had picked up a needle. I didn't mean it that way. I had.

Hi hope you're feeling better. I love stump work too I'm in the middle of making myself a 4 seasons mirror in stump work and wondering if I've bitten off more than I can chew!

Elmsley Rose. I have passed on to Gail Gray the website of a course on Jacobean Work but cannot tell her how to join this group. Like you, I have forgotten how to do it. Grace

Elmsley Rose. I have answered the query about a course on Jacobean Work and am in the process of finding a course for this lady. I remember that someone in my group on another forum did a course on this technique somewhere in the Midlands I think and was very pleased with it. I will let her know about it when I get a reply. Hope you are better soon. Grace

Lovely to see some of your work here, Megan. Some of it I have seen on your blog, but there are some pieces here that I've not seen before. I love your work.

Hope you are well and getting some stitching done.
