Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
Cross stitch, embroidery (japanese)
Where did you learn your textile skills?
My mom bought me my first cross stitch kit in high school. My mom taught me the basics and I learned the rest through the internet.
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I love cross stitching and anything embroidered althought I don't have as much time as I want to do it. I would love to take Japanese Embroidery classes if I can find any in Montreal.
I also learned how to crochet, making Amigurumis, and want to expand my knowledge there. One day I might even start knitting :P

Hi Dima.  What type of embroidery are you interested in?  There are courses in embroidery available in Montreal, but they are definitely hard to find.  I belong to the Lakeshore Creative Stitchery Guild and will be taking a course in Richelieu embroidery in January.  The Guild also offers other courses and workshops for its members.  Some of the embroidery shops offer courses as well.

Hi Dima.  I noticed that you are living in Montreal and interested in learning traditional Japanese embroidery.  Unfortunately, there are no teachers in the city or who have come to teach in Montreal recently.  My teacher is from BC, but has not been back to teach in Montreal since 2003.  I have taken classes in BC, Atlanta at the Japanese Embroidery Center, and most recently in Boston.
