Debby,
Love, love, love the way your block is developing. You're getting good, girl! I really like the three colored cretan stitch- my favorite stitch!

quilts: contemporary traditional, art quilts, crazy quilts, embroidery, hand painting fabrics
Where did you learn your textle skills?
I am mostly self-taught, although my mother taught me how to embroider pillowcases when I was a little girl. I was an art major throughout high school and when I first entered college. Many years ago I took some workshops through the Embroiderer's Guild. I started quilting about thirteen years ago, after resisting it for a long time. It is now such a part of my life that I can't imagine being without it.
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
I have embroidered and stitched all my life, but am new to sharing my interests. I'm very interested in other's work and look forward to sharing in this group. One of my favorite things to do is hand paint fabrics. I love to see what will happen and what I can do to take advantage of the variations I can come up with. I haven't tried dyeing yet, but am seriously considering it. I just wish I had more hours in the day to work on everything I would like to do!
Thank you for complimenting my heart wreath! I was checking out your gallery just now and enjoying your quilting. The crazy quilt that has orange in it caught my eye, and then i noticed you said it was out of your comfort range!! i like the colors though! I think the whole thing came out really nice!
What are you doing? Stitching, sewing? I had a wonderful meeting today with patchwork friend of the region - pot luck lunch - much talk - new things.
We are leaving for France tomorrow to stay for 3 weeks in our old farm house.
Ha,ha, I am smiling about the arctic area of Buffalo. We came in October. It was great. A few weeks ago we were in Denver and went on to the Yellowstone Park. Incredibly beautiful. We loved it so much.
It is with great pleasure that I will be your stitching friend, thank you Debby.
Let's discuss all sorts of things.
Last year we passed Buffalo, NY. We started in New Hampshire und drove to Madison, WI, to see the great patchwork exhibition and made a large circle to the Great Lakes and back to NH.
Debby, I would not know How, or where to begin submitting work! Perhaps you would be kind enough to give me a few pointers? Or possiblydirect me to a suitable source of information?
many thanks for your lovely comments,
Barbara
