Margaret this is awesome! I love it. It is so interesting. All of the little details just draw the viewer in and keep them entertained. Very nice "first quilt!"
I appreciate your comments re "Sunshine" - she was fun to make. Have you done Trapunto for your Roman Stripes, it is very effective whatever you have done? Margaret
Hi Deb, your comments on my species Tulips much appreciated.
I try to do a little 'English' embroidery in between my Japanese work.
Whereas the Japanes frame needs to be on a stand which takes up some room the English pieces can be done sitting more comfortably, handy if I want to watch TV . I've just posted my first Japanese practice piece, Nejiribana.
My daughter was pleased to see your photos as she does quilting and wall hangings etc. I go with her to the Quilting exhibitions in the area but I am happy with my embroidery. The many and varied quilt designs are a joy to see, and I love colour!!!
Deb, thanks for the comments! The quilting on your pieces is exquisite! I see you are in "San Antone". I'm a native Texan but have been away for too many years to count! Still have family in Texas, though.
LOL oh I know about that! I am about to give up on large quilts because it's darn near impossible to make them look good on any table top model. I think from now on I'll have someone else quilt them. I plan on working on smaller pieces for the rest of this year. Keep up the good work!
What lovely quilts you make and the yourquilting really sets them off beautifully!
And thanks for the comments on my pink blooming nine-patch. It was done over 4 years ago and I used flowers and paisley prints. Just last month in my LQS I saw one done with purple and gold batiks. It inspired me to try another too.
