Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
I'm interested in pretty much all aspects of textiles. In the past I have primarily worked with piecing, applique, and quilting, but recently have begun hand dyeing fabrics. I'm also doing a lot of knitting and plan to start dyeing yarns as well as creating them through spinning. I've also lately started doing a lot more surface design with painting and stitching on fabrics.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
All over the place. I started learning embroidery as a young child from my mom. Then I took classes wherever I could. My husband was in the military for twenty years so we lived all over the USA and some overseas. I took classes everywhere. I've recently started taking online classes to learn more.

Today I finished a journal I have been working on for sharonb's Take It Further Challenge. I made a gel print on cotton fabric which is embellished with embroidery and beaded sequins for the cover. You can see the whole thing at http://justenoughtime.wordpress.com.

Hi Deb,
I find your May TIF picture, above very interesting. How does it represent how you see yourself? Or did you already blog about this? Many people are using the TIF color scheme, but I really like the ideas. Just wondering...
