At last I have finished my patchwork quilt.

I started this quilt 10 years ago, I had only been working on it for a few months and when we moved it got packed away and forgotten about. When I was having a sort out I found it again and hey presto, I have now finished it !!

Received a textile postcard today

It was like christmas had come early today when I saw my post. Amongst the bills was the most beautiful textile postcard produced by Lorna. Hope she likes the postcard I made and sent her.

The Open studio is coming to a close

This open studio may be coming to a close , but I am still busy getting ready for an exhibition in Northamptonshire. I have been looking through my box of uncompleted work, one of which is a quilt which I must consider finishing.

2009

I have been busy creating new pieces for my open studio, exploring the art of silk papermaking, which I have found to have a great sculture quality. It will hold its shape once machine stitched damped and then dried with a hair dryer.

Newbee

Hi to anyone who visits. I am new to all things online. So my page is developing slowly as I get used to all the processes. So please be patient and visit me again.
I love creating individual pieces using a variety of surface techniques. I am experimenting with Batik as a base for machine and hand embroidery at the moment. I have recently dabbled with fibre fusing and felt bonding to add texture. This is one of my larger pieces that hangs over my freplace. It is called Golden Journey.… Continue

Claire Sorry to hear you have had trouble loading the site. I have no idea why the site would load slowly for you. I have not had any problems and have just come back from New Zealand where I had a slow connection. Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Thanks for letting me pick your brains, Claire.
I have used Model Magic - it's great, isn't it. I have just finished some textile jewellery cuffs, and hope to post them up. Next I want to make some silk paper for stitching on. Happy experimenting!
