I am interested in all aspect of embroidery and textile work. I belong to 2 branches of the Embroiderers' Guild (currently chairman of one) and I am on online tutor teaching a City & Guilds course in Creative Computing. My most recnet pieces of work include machine embroidery, felting, work created using and embellisher, beading and mixed media techniques.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
I learnt most of my sewing skills from a very early age and did have Needlework and Dressmaking as one of my A level qualifications. I continued adding to those skills through, spinning, weaving and embroidery and painting. In more recent times I have taken two City & Guilds courses as a distance learner in Embroidery and Creative sketchbooks.
Hello Ann,
Thanks for your nice words about my work. I love to use oyas on my works but I don't do them. There is an oya artisan lady who makes them for me. I must admit that I don't enough patience to make all of those different models. I'm thinking about an on-line class for a long time, I hope I'll be able to manage it soon. Thanks for your interest.
Best wishes, Rengin
