"These blocks are enchanting and well done.  Great fabric choices.  Just curious - how many strands of embroidery floss did you use?  Is the stitching right next to the fold of the applique patch?"

I started sewing and embroidering as a child. My mother and older women friends taught me. 27 years ago I took a quilt class and made traditional quilts.

I was a long arm quilter for 15 years until recently. I took a few Cities and Guilds classes and now want to learn to make more original pieces. Just finished the Studio Journals class with Sharon and a collage class with Richard Box.

Ta' for the comments on my pics, Cheryl! I've not been doing as much embroidery lately as I'd like...but the lovely encouragement has me craving to get stuck right into it again! Oh for the days of "stitchin' like life itself depended on it"!

Hi Cheryl. Thank you for your kind comment on my leaf quilt. You will enjoy your journey doing leaves and vines. Doing the vine can get a bit tedious, but adding the leaves brings the joy. Regards Dianne.
