A wonderful time was had and thank you to everyone for the wishes. It is a course that is worth the journey through to phase 9 and will carry us through to the next phases after X. Kazumi is a fantastic teacher and there was no question too simple a…
Thanks Jane - I have managed to download the article - I just needed to show a bit of patience with my computer. I am looking forward to reading the article, at a glance it appears very interesting and will provide further insight into our addiction…
Hi Jane
I could only access a portion of the article referred to - Is there any chance of being able to read the whole article without having to purchase the back issue no 46?
Cathy
Hi Cathy,
Congratulations on your phase 10.
Thanks for the lovely comment about my completed phase 4 piece - I really enjoyed stitching it. It was hard to go back to it after having put it aside to do phase 5 and start 6. It was a long piece for me, but it feels really good to have it done now.
Have just looked at your wonderful photos again - something for me to really aspire to.
Congrats again and looking forward to seeing Kusudama.
Cheers for now Iris
Glad to hear you are getting on well. I've been a bit behind with the embroidery recently. Must crack on with treasure ship this weekend.
Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Hi Cathy, think I forgot to let you know, I finally managed to update the Nuido gallery with pics of you peonies. Had some software problems and had to buy replacments.
Anyway it's all up now and next to Jennifers version so you can compare.
Am doing a post in the Japanese embroidery blog about colour and how it changes the look of a piece thought I'd use your and Jennys as one of the examples if that is ok.

HI CATHY, I'M NEW TO JAPANESE EMBROIDERY AND I HAVE A QUESTION? HOPE IT'S NOT TOO SILLY. WHAT KIND OF THREAD DO YOU USE . I AM FAMILER WITH PERLE AND REGULAR EMBROIDERY THREAD. BUT THE THREAD I SEE IS NOT ONE I HAVE USED. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT KIND IT IS. YOUR WORK IS INCREDIABLE,SO BEAUTIFUL. THANKS, BARBARA
Hi Cathy, I am not sure if you received my other email, in case you didn't I will write it again. I think you have me mixed up with someone else. I am not stitching Loving Couple, in fact I am doing Phase 10, Cypress Fans. When I did Phase 6 I stitched Eternal Grace. I hope you find who you are looking for.
Happy stitching Beverley.
Hi Kathy, I've only just spotted your Queen of Flowers. Great job, it looks lovely on the cream. Sorry you won't be coming in March, but I understand why you would want to come in August instead :)
Hi Cathy, will we be seeing you in Bournemouth in March? If not I'll see you at the phase 10 class in August. Am looking forward to it. Still working on treasure ship, it's starting to drag a bit now to be honest. I am going to have a good bash on in the next few weeks and try to get in finished.
Love your Queen of flowers, very very lovely.
Hi Cathy,
Good to hear from you. Thankyou for your concern. Although I live in a high risk area, we have fortunately been safe here this time. But my heart goes out to all in Victoria and NSW who have been affected - it is a tragedy beyond words.
Oh Cathy, I have had a look at your Queen of Flowers. What a stunning job you have done. So far I have only ever seen it on the dusty pink fabric which just looks so drab, and I have never really liked it.
But on the light fabric you have chosen, it is just gorgeous. Which fabric did you use - was it a chirimen? The colours of the flowerd really stand out and make it look so lifelike.
I am almost finished my cords piece - Resonance - hopefully by next week. Will then try to finish off Embroidery Sculpture and Eternal Grace. I have chosen to do the Camelias for phase 7, but not until mid year, I think. Must finish the others first, or I am afraid I will end up with several UFOs that I don't get back to.
You must be excited about starting phase X. Kusudama is such a lovely piece. I have been watching Bev's Cypress Fans progress. Just stunning and she does such fine stitching, and looks like she may finish within a few months.
I have to admit, I do struggle a bit with the amount of patience required for the lengthy later phases.
Thankyou for sharing your work.
Have a good time in Bournemouth. It sounds like there will be quite a few of you there. let us know how it goes.
Cheers, Iris
