Hi Cate, thank you for your kind comments. The background of the of the postcard in question was a store bought batik. I have yet to dye my own fabrics but have been interested in learning. I do enjoy painting some of my fabrics. I particularly like painting on silk. :)

Hi Cate! I decided to spend this summer learning how to dye fabrics and hopefully get a few of the colors that I love. Earthy greens, golds and browns. My local Quilt Guild is sponsering several challenges and I hope to participate in at least one. I have grown tired of the commercial fabrics out there, though there are many beautiful ones! I don't mean they are not worthwhile, but I always am looking for beautiful fall colors. Thanks for your lovely comment!
