"Thanks for your kind words every one! It will be quite heavy by the time it's finished, I'm aiming for 9 blocks with borders in between and around, so about 1m x 1m. I'll be a while before I collect enough zippers though."

"What an ingenious concept, Cat.  I love the quilt and this closeup shows how something as utilitarian as a zipper can become a piece of art. "

Well, here it is, I just joined the stitchin fingers. And it would seem that I'm blogging, how crazy is that. But I just couldn't help myself, after sneaking around this site for weeks, looking at all the beautiful work. This seems to be a wonderful little corner of the internet, and I intend to make myself at home.

Hi Cat

Looks like my previous got lost in the ether - or perhaps I did something wrong (quite likely!). Your little boy is lovely - you've captured him so well.

SAQA is the Studio Art Quilt Associates - here's the link: http://www.saqa.com/ There is some amazing work on the site - enjoy!

Hi Cat

I just figured out how to accept a friend -- still learning about this site (which is wonderful). Glad you like my alvar pieces - they're fun to do and selling well.

I love (fused, I think) art quilts -- is that your little boy? You've captured him so well, and it's great to see the steps you took to make the piece. Are you a member of SAQA? I'm not, but I think your work would fit very well with what they do. Great to see such lovely work by a fellow Canadian.

Cheers, Frances

Wow - beautiful art quilts. Not many are able to translate pictures into textile art quilts as well as you. Congratulations - well done

Dear Cat, thank you for your comment on Swan Cottage. I'll try to make some close ups but I had to take pictures of it before I framed it, because you get some reflection of the glass.

Thank you for your explanation to my qustion. I thought that it was about sizes. I have done some Fabric Postcards some years ago, but I will certainly try to make some ATC now.

Thank you for your welcome in your group. At this time, I have just a small amount done. When I finish one section of the design, it will be a pleasure to show you.

So disappointed, Cat,  I made you an embroidered gift to keep and, as I explained in my message to you, forgot to put postage on the envelope!  The post office said it would still get to you.  I spent quite a while on it, so I'm sorry it never got there :(

Hi, Cat,

The mail for Canada is still not being accepted yet so will keep you informed.

Don't feel so bad about that Sundae, though -  I will be sending a little something extra to make the wait worthwhile  :)
