In 2007 Sharon Boggon ran a challenge - Take a Stitch on Tuesday. TAST appears to be great for the beginners among us as the stitches are explained in great detail and with many photos to help someone master them. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Where did you learn your textle skills?
My Mother was an amazing artist, and I guess whatever talents I have were learned at her knee...
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
I was somewhere around five or six years old when my Grandmother' lifted me onto her lap and taught me how to guilde the fabric under the presser foot while she worked the pedal on her ancient Singer sewing machine.
As an adult, I taught myself to paint on fabric, experimenting with different types and brands of paints, until in about 1986, when I finally settled on using JoSonja's Acrylic Gouache, which I use to this day. Great stuff!!
Liz,
Thank you for your kind comments, as well! I would love to have your talent and creativity with your dolls. They are exquisite! Their faces are breathtaking! Did you do her makeup, etc.?
Was it Patty Culea, a few years back, who made the wonderful little mermaid doll, which was also made into a pattern packet? I so badly wanted to make that doll, but have lost the pattern in our move a while back. Did you see my silly little mermaid Dotees? They were my first Dotees, and were so much fun to make!! I guess I have a "thing" for mermaids, and I didn't even know it!! LOL!
Carolyn, thank you for your kind comments about my dolls. I have been admiring your CQ blocks "from afar", but just today realized you have painted the flowers (and web) that are the highlight of each. You are so talented! I often think one reason I make dolls is because I am so bad at painting. LOL! But I can sure admire work like yours.
Hi Carolyn, Nice to meet you! I was just admiring the CQ blocks that you posted in your photos.. I love the colors you chose and the details are fab.. Hope to see you around the CQ group...
