Carolina Gonzalez posted a discussionI have been a Crafter and a Witch most of my life, and those two passions have merged into my online business, House Of Eleggua, where along with my husband Fernando we sell handcrafted items for the practise of all Spiritual Paths. I have been reading Tarot for 23 years, and working professionally as a Witch (pro means paying our bills with it) for over 15 years.
Those who may not be familiar with Witchcraft may not know that it is called "The Craft" by practitioners - and it suits us perfectly, because there is no difference for us between craft and devotion; we don't see crafts OR Witchcraft as a hobby, but as a sacred way of life. We are deeply committed to what has been called The Slow Life - that means we grow organic herbs for our use and our work, make our own furniture and clothes whenever possible and try to live a life of less spending and more experiencing. We upcycle, recycle, forage, wildharvest and reuse constantly. We live in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), with our two dogs and four cats, all rescued from shelters or from the streets.
My two grandmothers were professional seamstresses and embroiderers, and taught me the love for making things by hand. Even though I didn't have the chance to learn from them as much as I would have like to, I reconnected with that heritage as an adult, inspired greatly by Internet; since then I have been teaching myself through books and research; I love doll making, embroidery, crazy quilting, crochet, and last year started learning knitting and cross stitch. I am really excited to be part of this community, and it is a great (GREAT) inspiration for improving my work and continue learning!
