Beautiful. It is so delicate.

A beautiful block. I love how the repeated use of detached chain gives continuity and your use of a limited colour pallette is really very clever.

I saw the flat version of this a couple of weeks ago. The beads are fabulous, so I know that as wonder as this looks in the photograph, it is much, much lovelier in the flesh. The fringe is fabulous and the beadwork is wonderful.

I already have my supplies for this bag. Sadly the amazing clasp is no longer available but the beads are stunning. I will probably begin this early next year. Yours is stunning, it is a treat to see a picture of it.

I love this bad. It looks so simple but I've a sneeking suspicion that ther is more to it than meets the eye ;-)

Jean Julier (jeanjulier@aol.com) has organized several fan classes with Midori teaching. You might wish to contact Jean and see when the next class is. They are great!

I was at class with Marion Howse this summer when they unveiled the new clasp and shape for the Floral Melody kits. When they first offered the handbag they charged us for the frame but would not give it to us. I begged them to give us the clasps in case they mislaid them. So a few years later they agreed to include them with the kit.... well this week one of my first students completed her Floral Melody and they are OUT of the handles and they are questioning her about the handle claiming she had it. I had to resurrect my old invoice stating we paid for a handle that would be given out later.

The Peacock is one of my favorite handbags with the variety of color.

The Checker Handbag is quite easy but I did throw away the polyester velvet that came with the kit and purchased high quality silk velvet when I returned from class. I also used a 2" band of fusible black fabric interfacing on all four edges of the silk velvet to reinforce where the lacing and end fabrics pulled. The velvet provided in the kit ripped away from the frame the second I added my chop sticks. It was a disaster. Poor Ms. Matsukawa-san was devastated when my velvet ripped. I told her I would replace it with silk velvet and she said she was told silk velvet was not available in the US for the JEC to kit with.

HI Carol,
I really enjoyed show very much. There were a lot of work shops and stals related to
needlework and crafts.I only had one day and I felt I I have not seen it all.
Next time I wil stay 2 days to see more. I tried tatting, silk shading ,flower-making from fleece. I visited Midori's section, she is one of UK's Japanese embroidery
tutors. Have you met her? She displayed an embroidered Kimono with a Christmas theme. I found some silk braied threads, which Ihave been looking for but they did not have black so I orderd it by phone today. I will be able to do beadwork necklace sooonnn. I also found nice christmas present idea! Watch my page.Do you have enough beads after scattering problem? I really recommend you to go to the stitching show.It gives us a lot of ideas and motvation. You are right. The sign in page would not recognize my password and when I tried to retrieve it, the protocol required I answer like a newbee.
Confused.

Hi Carol-Anne

Thankyou so much for your positive comments. This is my first piece so it is a bit of a path of discovery. I thought I might find it boring but it is fact just the opposite. I am really enjoying it! It is great to get constructive ffedback from someone who is very experienced and extremely capable in gold couching. I look forward to any other feedback on my progress.

The cornflowers are my own design as well.

Good Morning
I finished my first thimble last night. I think I will do another today. It was fun to watch the pattern appear.
I posted a picture (somewhere).
Thanks for the help.
