OH, this is gorgeous! I really like this. I have Yarnplayer's Spring Grass I believe. I love it mixed with Pistachio and the cream colored thread! Beautiful! Where did you get the pattern for this beautiful big snowflake/little doily?

I've been away for awhile because of a death in the family, but I would like to show you something that my lace group and I did. We had a retreat of 11 and we worked on RPL. Most of us learned how to crochet our braid and then finished up one piec...

I've heard it looks like Christmas, but when I see the rose and blue it takes me away from that. I think it would work though.

I have seen these quite a few times now both done by hand and also by machine embroidery. One lady said you could have one for an exchange of something that you had done. I haven't seen it now for a while, but I will try to keep it in my mind so t...

Display Window at Our Library

The lace group I belong to here in town is called the Lighthouse Lacers and we decorate the display window at the library every year. On one of the weekends we had an open house which followed an article that we had in the newspaper. We have now gained a few new members and one of them wanted to learn bobbin lace. The president of our group suggested me, so now I have already started teaching her and she just loves it. I am going to put a few of the pictures of the window here, but first telling… Continue

Sorry to hear about your brother. Learning a new kind of lacemaking is a good kind of cure. It gives you something to do quietly while you think and remember what you need to remember.

Hi, Barbara! I'm glad we're friends :) I love your tatting . . . I tried and tried to teach myself how to tat with a shuttle and was a miserable failure. Then I heard about needle tatting and was determined to give it a try, and voila! But I'm only just a beginner, and right now am really absorbed in a crazy quilt block and a hardanger project (two separate projects) and so my tatting needles are standing idle. But my other needles are busy, so I'm happy!

Hello Barbara, Thanks for the invitation to be your friend. You create lovely tatting motif. I love them. I am Sad to say, I have tried a couple of time and found my fingers not very cooperative to tatting but I will keep trying. Hugs Judy

Good morning Barbara, We are having torrential rain here at present so it is a good day for sewing or reading. I probably will not try tatting again as my interests lie in writing short poems and stories and embroidering the words and pictures, also Hardanger is a particular interest, Wall hangings & quilts for the grandchildren, but would like to get back to Teneriffe Lace one day, have you given that a try? I am involved in a quilting group which has a constant flow of projects to share with one another also an embroidery friendship group, so with all my book ideas to go on with I need every spare daylight hour I can get, but it is my passion and love every minute of the fun, laughter and sharing. Thanks for taking the time to look at my Hardanger. You mentioned that you like #4,5,7. Your taste agrees with mine. Those are the ones I like, too. I try to design all my pieces. Number 7 is the exception. It is an adaptation of a photo from Sigrid Bright's old book.

Oh, your hardanger pieces are lovely! And the bobbin lace, too—I've always wanted to try it, but I have many cats . . . . maybe one day. Thanks for the compliments on my bunny and flamingo!

So far, I'm doing the baby wash clothes but my next project will be a baby blanket. After that, I'll probably brave a had and sweater or something.

Thanks for your offer of friendship! I love your lace photos. They're absolutely beautiful.

I found a knitting instruction booklet with baby wash cloth patterns and since my step daughter is having a baby in Nov, I figured I'd practice on her little one. My next knitting project will be a baby blanket for her. I'm new to knitting and these are easy enough to practice on.
