Barb, You sound like a wonderful Grandma!! I have to give myself credit though, I'm a pretty good one too. Anyway, the kids love coming here, hate to leave, and argue over who's turn it is to stay all night (I won't take more than one at a time.) That's how I judge my popularity!! It's good I only have three grandchildren. Have a wonderful Christmas and I'll hope to hear from you after the New Year when my house is empty again (not counting DH.) Maureen

Barb, I'm finally getting back to trying to figure out this great resource you invited me to join. How are you doing? I also got rid of the shadowman and feel a little less creepy when I sign in!! Now all my neck wrinkles are showing. I've been working on a lot of projects but not getting a lot done. I had to stop and do a Dora the Explorer quilt for my grandbaby. It turned out really cute and I think she'll like cuddling with it. Anyway, just wanted to say Hi. Maureen

Thank you Barb. I still am not sure what to do with all this information, places to check out, etc. I'm leaving on vacation in a few days so I'll think about it a little more thoroughly when I get back. I definitely need to get a photo of myself to add (maybe a baby picture) as that shadowman is kind of spooky. It will be nice to make some new stitching friends. By the way, I like your photo. You have a very pretty smile!

LOL Barb! Yes of course I noticed your age! I just hope I am doing as well as you in twenty years time!! My job is personal care for elderly people and I see some that have just about given up at 80, while others are still going strong at 90.

Hi again Barb! Thanks for your reply to my comment here. I can understand exactly your sentiments about preferring to stitch than type - I spend far too much time on this machine instead of with a needle in my fingers! Also empathise with the feeling of time slipping by before I can finish my stash of UFOs and SINS (Stuff I'll Never Stitch). Now that I'm 60, I'm aware that my eyesight is not as clear as it used to be, and arthritis is creeping up on my hands and fingers....again, too much time wasted staring at a screen!!

What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
All of it... from the first spun thread!
Where did you learn your textle skills?
Mostly learned from books, in regional isolation....Louisiana, USA!
At my age I have had lots of time to research and learn all sorts of thread work, from knitting at age 5 to amigurumi at age 80+....even bobbin lace and Kumihimo, sort of!
