What textiles are you interested in?
rug hooking ,applique, embroidery, crochet, knitting
Where did you learn your textile skills?
I've taken a few classes over the years but I'm mostly self taught. There are so many wonderful books out there to learn technique from. I'm am great fan of the public library. And now the web...which is a wealth of info.
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I cannot remember not having the desire to make things with my hands. As a child I was always trying my hand at embroidery , crocheting or knitting...making do with the limited supplies I could find. Now as an adult I'm still creating. But I do like to make things that will last a long time and be cherished hopefully.

Thank you so much for your reply which was very helpful. The closest I ever came to making dolls like this was when I made the figures for a nativity scene for my children about 35 years ago. They had embroidered faces but that was the only decoration. And they were very small. Sadly, I no longer have them but I can feel another, more elaborate group coming on, this time for my grandchildren. Warm regards, Suzy

I love your dolls. Each one is so individual. I assume that you do all the embroidery before you make them up, but do you? They inhabit their shapes so beautifully.

I also like your other embroideries very much indeed. Do you hand dye your felt? Sorry to pepper you with questions but you've inspired me. Warm regards, Suzy in Melbourne.

Thank you!  Your dolls are all lovely, and I can imagine they are very soothing to stitch.  Look forward to seeing more of them on here!
