- Thanks for lovely comment on my work, That necklace you asked about...it is from the fabric and fibre book. Basically it is 100% wool felt ( i had to buy because my R'A complaint does not allow hard hand work of rubbing etc) I cut out the flowers/leaves. then shrank them...next dyed some silk fabric with silk paints for the band. Then threaded up row size 11 seed beads about 24 inch
Attached the beads and flowers along the silk fabric. The centres of flowers are made with size 6 seed beads

- What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
- rug hooking ,applique, embroidery, crochet, knitting
- Where did you learn your textle skills?
- I've taken a few classes over the years but I'm mostly self taught. There are so many wonderful books out there to learn technique from. I'm am great fan of the public library. And now the web...which is a wealth of info.
- Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
- I cannot remember not having the desire to make things with my hands. As a child I was always trying my hand at embroidery , crocheting or knitting...making do with the limited supplies I could find. Now as an adult I'm still creating. But I do like to make things that will last a long time and be cherished hopefully.
