What textiles are you interested in?
I have been sewing all my life and have dabbled in many different crafts over the years but my passion is quilting. There's just something about working with the combination of colour, fabric and thread which touches my soul.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
I started at a young age - making dolls clothes when I was about 7 so my Mother started me off. I then did "needlework" at school for a while. Most of my skills I've picked up from books and the occasional workshop or class. I've learned a lot just by problem solving!

This is a journal cover I made using fabric I dyed a while ago.

Hi Anne,
Love the journal cover...Your hand dyed fabric is lovely. I was trying to find more of your work but no luck. I guess I am technical challenged..
Anyway in my travels I decided to join the quilt group... I see you belong to the postcard group too... Are you in the Yahoo trading group? LOL
Well I better go. I just finished putting a 2 color binding on a whole cloth quilt(108" x 85")hand quilted.. I LOVE hand quilting.... Cream on one side and pale blue on the other. It will go in our guild quilt show next week.
Will get pictures then.
Meanwhile I better go and get dressed and get busy!
Have a great day...
xoxo
((((hugs))))

Hi there Anne
I live in a small village just outside Spalding . It is lovely in it's own way here as it is very flat and we get lovely sunsets.
i moved here just 18 months ago from London and it's wonderful. london was expensive, dirty and overcrowded so i am glad to be here where it is so quiet and peacfull.
We did feel the earthquake here a few months ago and that was a really strange experience.
I have just joined a new quilting class that has started in our village.

Hi there Anne
Thank you for the tip. I shall look for some nice backing fabric at one of the quilt shows and then take the plunge and start quilting.
The 2 lap quilts were not too difficult to do and look ok considering they were done without a walking foot.
I have now got a new machine with a quilting foot so i am hoping that this will make the task much easier.
Where in the UK are you? I am in rural Lincolnshire.

Sadly no - I'm the unartistic one in the family - It was a birthday present to me from Paul a few years ago. - the artistic ability skipped a generation in my case - I'm just a good draughtsman!

Can you mail me yours, so I can send you my address?
Please make whatever you like for me, I am only not so in for pastels and purple.
Bye from Holland, WILMA

Sorry your email did not go through. Not sure why, but let me give it to you here. If this one does not work, we may have to resort to using my husband's. Yikes!

I love the quilt you've used for your ID picture: amazing movement effects and wonderful colours.
