"Thank you both ... not sure I'll ever do another silk-shaded face - really hard, but an interesting experience! :-) I'm a huge My Fair Lady fan - maybe I'll do a full-length Eliza one day."

I've been embroidering on and off for years, and started my City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate a few years ago - taking it slowly but thoroughly enjoying it.
Hi Ann, I did a bit of tambour embroidery including bead work years ago and still have the hooks etc. We had the tiny pearls threaded on a thread which we laid on the top surface then hooked the other thread from the back. Regards Nola
Hi Anne,
I saw your comment and answered yesterday but I was quite stupid and answered below my own photo!
So, I deleted my first message that was the following:
Point de Beauvais is a simple chain stitch but it is not done with a needle fortunately but with a tambour hook. I found a video (with comment in french!) in which you can see how it is done. It is here. For just having a look to the stitch, it is after 7min and 40 s, just before she set up a frame which can be interesting too!
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any question or comment!
Aurélie Clay and Paul Phillip Evans do tambour work, including beades and sequins. They may be able to point you towards the information you are looking for.
