I'm a mother of 5, married and live in the USA almost 7 yrs. I'm a stay at home mom, because one of my son's is autistic, so i do a lot of crafts.

A waste knot is one which you'll put while starting- Make a knot ,pass the needle and thread from the top and take it out at your starting point,the knot should be a couple of inches away from your starting point,after you've made enough kloster blocks,snip the knot and pass the thread through the blocks which you've made.This way both our starting and ending will look neat.Hope this helps.

Anja, looks like the hardanger lovers have not picked up your query about threads, wonder if it would be worth raising the topic in the friends of hardanger group, just a thought they are far more experinced than me and I am sure would come up with helpful suggestions. I will raise the topic on your discussion so it gets at the top of the dicussions again.
