Thank you Lorna the velvet was destreasted with househole bleach it was a dark purple with the bleach it turned it into a priwinkle blue colour the ribbons used for the leaves are silk. I sold this purse to a lady who wanted it for a special holiday…
I have been doing Crazy Patchwork for a number of years now - where I use silk ribbon all sorts of thread. I make crazy patchwork purses and from time to time I sell one which is a great thrill. I like all thickness of silk ribbon and make foldered flowers as well. I hope one day to learn stumpwork where I can incorperate this into what I am doing now.
Andrea: Thank you SOOO much for the wonderful explanation!! I think I understand. I'll have to purchase a clasp thing (would truly appreciate the website you use) and then proceed from there. If I run into difficulties at that point (give me a while!!!!), I will certainly email you. You are so sweet to take the time to answer me both so quickly and with such detail - I'm so grateful for your help.
Will chat with you again soon I'm sure!

I just saw your gorgeous Victorian style bags on CQ Mag online! I've been itching to try one (as I make all kinds of CQ purses), but have not been able to find a pattern OR instructions for how to put the metal handle on - it looks really difficult to me! Could/would you please direct me to a site/store/tutorial for this type of purse? I would so very much appreciate it.
You are my inspiration for trying to accomplish this!! I adore your work!
Hi Elsie yes I did received my red hat lady as yet I haven't started stitching her yet. I did enquire about the Angel but haven't purchased one I will as I do love them.
Hi, you had said in a previous post that you had ordered your red hat lady. Do you have it yet, also think you were trying to get one of the Angel Blocks?
Hi Andrea says Maggie waving from Sunny and warm Ontario, Canada.
I have never been to your part of the world, but my hubby has and he raved about it....I guess your seasons are reverse to ours.
So you make bags and sell them... Me too... I supply a couple of boutiques with my dolls, bags, journals , beaded bracelets and beaded healing spirits.... It keeps me busy doing what i Love.
This is a fun place to be and I hope to learn and share with all of you talented gals.

Thank you Jo - I love the CQMagOnline and have submitted some of my project into the show case plus a couple of years ago I won 3rd place in one of there compatitions - it was a purse in a garden theme. Kind regards Andrea - I hope you will be one of my friend!!
Of course you may use the tag idea. It is not mine. There was an article in the last issue of CQMagOnline. We are doing a swap on one of my groups. They are handy, and a neat idea for a quick gift as you say.
I am in Auckland. Would rather be where you are....
