Margaret, sorry I am probably too late since I haven't been here for a couple of days. If this were mine, I would put another border around the outside, like a blanket stitch. Once you get the filling stitches in the heart and top motifs, I think it will look more complete. You could add a few beads too. Use a variegated green for the blanket stitch border for a little added interest. I have used a Caron Wildflowers variegated that I believe is called Chartreuse, all shades of green and looks like it would match what you have already used.

Margaret,It's beautiful ! I agree with Connie ,since colour is the problem how about using green metallic to give that extra punch...I love the hardanger which you'd replaced for knotted cretan .Your daughter is so lucky!

thank you all for your comments and advice. I agree Connie about something around the big heart, thought I might try to do the two blocks that are higher up near the bottom of the heart on either side, colour is the problem Catherine just wants green. I have got bead  both green and pearl, Catherine might make me remove the pearl but being 40 pearl is apprpiate.

looks thoughtfully wonderful!

Personally I think it is beautiful, but I do think it could use a little punch of color, maybe small satin stitched hearts around the big heart, you could do those in gold or silver metallic.

Margaret, if it is mine...I'll like to have some glitters. May I suggest clear-coloured crystals and green coloured ones to be added in the heart and somewhere-else??? But like Pippa said, not overdoing it.
