Hi Shirley, thanks so much for all your comments and interest.... this project started a couple of years ago and is gatherind momentum. I have to work on it in my spare time as I work, but it is all consuming as you can see. We have about 20 people working with us and they are all different grades and styles of stitchers but all fantastic! Read my blog to keep track of it and if you are in UK 2012 you are very welcome to come to the opening, which we hope will be graced by the Queen or one of her offspring. The Queen is patron of the RSN so thats why we can ask her!!! Keep in touch and ask me anything you like. By the way it is NEVER too late to start doing this kin dof work.... :)

Have just been having a closer look at the photos of the Guildford Project...all I can say is I hope I get to see the finished project in 2012....I often wish i had been exposed to all this type of work when I was younger and been allowed to pursue an artistic career..I would have loved it.

Hi Catherine
This project has a finish date of 2012! It is a massive undertaking, and firstly we are completing all the buildings as these make up the main high street and will give the structure to the design. We then move on to the nicer pieces such as the river, boats, animals and flowers etc.
The difficulty is work gets in the way! Pity the office can be more accommodating :)

Kristina,

This is just wonderful!!! Your huge project is really coming along. When do you expect it will be finished? I am guessing over a year.

Hi Sue, we have a interim exhibition in the Guildhall in Guildford, displaying all the buildings and pieces finished to date, hopefully around 20 completed and about 20 works in various stages of progress. It has been a struggle to find the time to work on each project (work gets in the way/family life) but when on the job it is fun and quite taxing to problem solve, especially hard to find good methods to stitch the numerous (154) assortment of structures!
