"For Cairo With Love"

embellished painting

beads, acrylics, canvas

I find that I cannot, not, not stop listening to CBC radio/watching all-news channels on the tv these days for any/all news from/about...EGYPT - esp. Cairo!! I am in complete awe of and deeply, deeply moved by the extraordinary and heart-stoppingly courageous men and women of Egypt who have formed their own "Circle of Solidarity" in their determined - yet largely peaceful - quest for Freedom at long, loooong last...

P.S. I don't know if it's clear in this photo, but I made a "Circle of Solidarity" from plain, white beads before covering the canvas with flames of Freedom.

A bold interpretation!  I also wish for an end to this, with the minimum of bloodshed.

You got it - very good. It is really awsome what is happening there. I hope it will come to a satisfying end after all for all those courageous people.
