I had no previous knowledge of the couching stitch. I confess that this is not easy! This is the second study, I used photoshop's extrude filter to create the effect I wanted.

Luiz, each week I wonder just what you will do to put a twist on Sharon's stitch of the week. You never fail to surprise me. I will now get back to my mundane sampler!! Oh, but it is also somewhat encouraging to hear that you found couching difficult... there is hope for us all.

Very interesting effect. I agree that couching is not easy. We do a lot of couching in Japanese Embroidery, and it takes patience!
