Tast 2012 French knots

i have reposted this picture from a couple of years ago of the West Australian Wattle tree. I lost count at 2000 knots. There are knots on knots on knots to give shape to the clumps of the flowers.
It is worked entirely in wool threads on blue linen

As well as the knots there is raised stem band for the trunk and couching. Some fly stitch and buttonhole and straight stitch in the grasses.

Shirley, this is spectacular. Your use of the different shades has created such an incredible 3D effect. The foreground meadow is so lovely, too. Did you dream about French knots after this?

Shirley,

This is absolutely great innovative stunningly beautiful piece of embroidery. I too wanted to do such an embroidey. I want to make one like this for wall hanging but not yet started. I have no idea how to stitch for the grass portion.
