Hi Megan, I plunge the wires with a large eyed needle first, then I bend the wires along the calico interfacing & over sew then for about 15mm, then I seperate the wires & bend them back  - i wire each side of the already stitched area  - then stitch over all 4 together & trim them off. This way they stay flat. There is no way that they can pull out of the fabric & it is not lumpy. If there is an embroidered area where the wires are plunged I employ the above method over the back of the stitching because it is stronger. Hope this helps?

Oh Lynette!

I've always had 'fushchias" on my list of stumpwork-to-do. These are fantastic!

 I'm interested in how you attached the inner petals and then the outer petals (presumably by plunging the end wire of each) but how do you get them to stay in place so firmly and neatly?
