Thank you, Dawa. I also like to hear how things evolve and how people make the most of the design opportunities afforded them by things not going the way they expected. The finished piece is a total success in my oppinion.

I like to hear these design elements taking place Dawa. It's nice to know others have pieces that just sort of 'evolve'. I like the 'thin' parts, and I love the holes embroidered over. I suppose I especially like this piece because I'm a great fan of creams/neutrals.

absolute base is poly fleece which was needle felted.
this was then stuffed into a pillow case and put thru the washing machine; not a total success as it created some really thin parts.
i cut holes and worked around them and then just added 'stuff'
a crochet swag on the diagonal make the change from lots of embellishment to bigger andless at the top
lotsand lots of hand stitching in this piece
the 'tales' are mounted on a hessian background.

Love this also and would really like to know a little about it. What did you use for the base fabric, what are the thicker parts wool, silk roving? How is it applied. Enquiring minds want to know :-).
