Adaptation of Stephanie Powell's design ("Exploring Elizabethan Embroidery" by Dorothy Clarke). First attempt at step 5 of EGA's Master Crewel Program. Didn't pass due to incorrect material and thread. I'm currently working on a new step 5.

Laurel, Dorothy was such a wonderful lady in every aspect of her life. She delighted in seeing people learn and evolve. I miss having her lovely persona around me, she always evoked peacefulness in a room.

Comment by Laurel on August 21, 2012 at 6:30 Sorry I see you have done Crewel with what was a Padded Needlace design in her book. Either one, she would have loved you adaption. :)
Dorothy Clarke was a personal friend of mine and we lived just a couple of minutes drive from each other. I was lucky enough to have her teach me this style in person. I know she would be looking down smiling in delight at what you have accomplished. :)

Comment by luiz vaz on August 19, 2012 at 6:59 Laurel, I really liked this piece, independent of the choices or changes (I do not know what) you've done. The result seems very good
