Pocket for the Mango Bride - detail
Up close and personal - some of the detail on the Pocket. Pulled threadwork on linen, bullion roses, picot leaves (needle weaving) in variegated thread, couched metallic threads, faux pearls from a necklace out of the 'dressing up box' I shared with my sister as a child, and tiny sequins. The tiny flower-shaped sequins were the perfect find. Some I bought, and others I won in a raffle. How fortuitous!

Margaret, thank you. I buy some of the sequins from a woman in earthquake-rocked Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. She imports them from America, apparently. Others are Colour-Stream brand. I really love working with the micro sequins, as they add a little something-something that is hard to name. Stitched down with a metallic thread, they seem to work better than when stitched with anything else.
