Thankyou all. When I was researching the design I found that in many of the photos I'd taken, and those on the internet, there are actually lots of colours in lichen when you look closely - gorgeous rich oranges and yellows as well as the greens, blues, browns and greys

Judith, I love your beautiful interpretation of lichen! This is a subject I have been interested in for quite some time now.  I have been wracking my little pea brain trying to come up with a good way to depict lichen.  I would never have thought to use so many beautiful colors and beads!  It is truly sumptuous, and so very inspiring!  You've opened my mind to a whole new range of interpretations!
