How are the knots in a gold and the other parts of the stitch brown on the rim of this piece Liz? Did you back-stitch over and then do the french knots after to get that affect or did you have two different thread colours and magic stitch or was it the tread that changed colour? Or is it just a trick of the light and my eyes are just erm mistook? I'm intrigued which ever way it is... your stitching is lovely x

It's all done with Italian border stitch, the knots are part of it.
