Comment by Debora Konchinsky on August 7, 2012 at 19:02 This is a small wall hanging now. I added a dark brown wool border and the felted ground is moving out into that area. It will be quilted with a thin batting so I can enter it into shows. The whole piece is currently 38" wide x 42" high.
I recently got the comments from the judges at the Maine Quilt show where my Sheep Wannabees (check out my other photos to see it) quilt got a viewers choice ribbon and a red (2nd place) ribbon. The quilt weighs 6 pounds. It is 69" square and was a bear to machine quilt on my Bernina. I got points off in the judging because of the quilting not being consistent (more heavily quilted in some area, less in other areas). So this new quilt pictured here is going to stay small and manageable, yet detailed.
I am so behind on looking and Oh what a delightful piece this is. Just love it. Is it a wall hanging
Comment by Debora Konchinsky on July 21, 2012 at 19:13 Thank you for all your compliments...I a m having fun learning how to draw in embroidery threads. The animals are relatively easy because they are fused appliques. I'm beginning to develop beginner patterns for fused appliques. My web site is in my profile page.
