Needle-case

I made a needle-case like this in high school but was given very drab thread to work with. These are the kinds of colours I love. I've taken ordinary stitches and made them my own with the addition of other stitches to change their appearance. I love the way a straight stitch can be made to look curved just by what is added to it. I made a tiny Dorset button and a buttonhole loop for the closure. Binding is my Achille's heel!

Lovely to see. Lovely to make, Lovely to remember days from school.

I agree with mandy, it is a great pity needlework is not taught at schools any more.

Ann what a lovely needlecase, funny I also have a needlecase I made when I was a young girl. I'm so sorry needlework isn't taught in Schools anymore, I think it was so valuable.
