May ATC chain stitch bird

the bird is done in chain stitch from top to bottom, following an old counted rug hooking pattern, in 3 strands of DMC on 14 count Aida cloth.
After 3 rows I thought to myself, that's the first and last time I do this technique, changing colours in the middle of a chain is such a pain to do. But I got used to it, eventually I started enjoying it, and I do love the knitted look.
