Marsh Land Tast Week 17 Wheatear stitch

Marsh Land Tast Week 17 Wheatear stitch

This is a record for me to be finished so soon. As well as some dyed wool fibre, I have used boucle, chenile, and rayon threads to couch with on a background that has different fabrics, some of which I painted to give a bit of depth. Stitches are wheatear, couching, feather and running stitch. The long beads are glass, the type used for a lampshade fringe as well as some wooden beads.
At first I was looking at calling this rainforest, then as it evolved it was the swamp, then mishmash, but once I painted some of the backgrounds with my Inktense water pastels, I thought Marshlands was appropriate.

I love this Shirely. And your story about the ever-evolving title......mishmash is cute...but Marsh Land captures the essence of what you have created here....a textural, organic piece that holds the viewers' interest.

Great use of 'stuff' Shirley, no other way to describe it.  You always come up with some inspirational.  I've just purchased those Inktense pencils, and love the soft colours.  It evokes something watery, and has such great texture.
