Knots

A few of us are working through the exercises in "Art + Quilt" by Lyric Kinard, and this is a monochromatic sample that explored texture. I added lots of colonial knots in pearl cotton #8 (mostly because it takes a lot of them to cover much area!)

Another piece of yours that I am drawn to. I like a softly blended colour scheme too.......... This is just gorgeous. Can't believe it's been here for two weeks and I've missed it!!!

Thank you -- my tendency is to line everything up, which can be static and too predictable. I'm glad I added the organic shapes in the knots and quilting as counterbalance. Interesting how much one can learn from a simple exercise like that.
