I have just uploaded a photo of one of the embroideries I did for this antique french dressing screen that was being restored. Here's the finished product! It has been returned to its gilded state. Those are my silk ribbon embroideries at the top. I was so delighted to see it in all its restored glory!

Comment by Elizabeth Beglin on May 13, 2012 at 20:10 Thank you, Elaine. For an authentic giggle, the owner and I draped some amazing vintage underwear over the screen and put it in the corner of the room. You could just imagine an elegant lady using it. The client is a psychiatrist who has people come to her home office - she made sure she removed any sign of undergarments before her clients arrived in case she freaked them out!

Thank you all. Yes, it is so good to see this item restored and back in use. Interestingly, even though the upholstery fabric on the back had holes, the owner chose to keep it as it was an adorable gold brocade from the period. The restorer put new gimp braid around and it looks amazing on both sides now.
