I dont remember what the backround material is...probably just plain old cotton. I then painted the material and added the threads, fibers and beads later....( so the film is on top mof the paint!)

What a fun piece! What did you use for the background (type of material)? I didn't know acrylic paint would adhere to the film. Thanks for sharing.
