My Kaffe Fassett Tilt quilt on a design wall in class Kaffe taught in 2010. I selected wrong fabrics as directions called for high contrast fabrics. Kaffe wanted to take me shopping but I would not have been able to cut new fabrics as I had hand surgery 2 months before the class. Kaffe said my quilt reminded him of a rainy day in London. Yikes!

He never mentioned the backs becausae it was not a sewing class but a design class. He was critical of those who brought white design walls saying he couldn't see the balance of the colors because the white blinded him. He uses a taupe design wall. I was one of 2 people who brought cut fabrics to the class. No one could figure out what he wanted from the instructions and he took all of them shopping in the vending area of the quilt show. Since I hasd carpal tunnel surgery 2 months before the class, I would not have been able to cut more fabrics. Mine were cut pre-surgery.

I like the fabric you have used but I can see it is not loud enough for Kaffe, must have been great doing a classs with him, did he want you to have messy backs, I know when he knitted he alsasys said it did not matter what the back looked like

Kaffe hated these Robert Morris reproduction fabrics as the scale was nothing like the originals. He was angry that a fabric designer created them.
