Embroidered handbag - design by Susan O'Connor of Inspirations magazine

This design was featured in Inspirations magazine(Issue 44) a few years back. It's embroidered on black Dupion silk, using Anchor stranded cotton. I altered a few of the stitches, but basically it's as shown in the magazine. Highlights are done using seed beads and sequins. The yellow berries are my favourite part - size 6 beads, each wrapped in one strand of thread with a seed bead at the tip. The bag measures about 7 inches across.

Beautiful work, Janet.  Those colours really glow against the black silk.
