Cretan Sample

I'm trying to do all my small stitch samples on evenweave, something I've not really done with stitches such as these. This looks like it could make an interesting filling stitch. The darker/smaller cretans are a very fine metallic thread - Glisten Gloss/Madeira.

This is beautiful. I'd like to try this as smocking on a dress......without the gathering it would be so much more easier I think.
