Crazy Sheep Quilt

All suiting weight wool fabrics, with some sheep felted and lots of hand embroidery. The cornerstones have sheep faces which are felted and look realistic.

This is an honor for me, Sharon.   My quilt apparently has piqued some interest.   My goal is to win some "best in show" ribbons.

A truly remarkable piece of fabric art.  Your 'cornerstone sheep' are just fantastic.

Wow, I absolutely love your Crazy Sheep quilt. Your stitching is great and all the sheep are perfect.  I love how you have used you wool fabrics.  Great work. Hugs Judy

This is really beautiful.  I like to make stitched sheep because I worked on a sheep farm as a teen in Australia.  This is very inspiring to me and I may borrow your idea for a sheep crazy quilt of my own.

The Crazy Sheep quilt is about 50 inches square.  The top and back are wool.  The appliques are fused wool (some are pin stripes) and satin stitched.  Then I discovered felting.  It is hard to felt through satin stitching!  There isn't any need to stitch at all the animals which are felted.  The felted fibers hold the appliques in place by covering them completely.
