These bullions are worked on a pulled thread background using the Casalguidi style of embroidery. The very long knoted bullions are about an inch or so long. They are over a raised stem band. The threads used are needlework necessities stranded cotton.

Shirley, you're so clever....this is super lovely. I did a Casalguidi class with Effie Mitrofanis a couple of years ago, but haven't finished the project yet. She is a great teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Your work is a joy to look at.
