book-cover-1

Two quickie covers for small pocket size notebooks, done as doodles on an overseas business trip and on vacation at the beach (still in progress). Cotton floss on cotton even weave. Finished book about 3" x 5" x 0.3". Patterns adapted from upcoming Second Carolingian Modelbook.

To answer the count question, this piece is considerably coarser than my big project. I count 16 spi on the book covers, which working over 2x2 threads equals a ground fabric thread count of 32 threads per inch (12.8 per cm). After three years of projects on 40 to 50 count(20-25 spi) the threads on this ground look as big as logs!

They are still not quickies! Since they are for appointments maybe "timelies". No matter there is a sitll a lot of stitches to make those lovely patterns.  What thread count are they on! Looks like about 32-36 cnt to get the detail.

Thanks everyone.  Just to be precise - these aren't covers for paperback books or other readables.  They're for itty bitty pocket or purse-size blank notebooks that folk use for jotting down thoughts or appointments.  They are only a bit large than 3x5 inches, and come equipped with the placemark ribbon.
