Barred Chain and Twisted Chain Sampler

Barred Chain and Twisted Chain Sampler

I'm jumping in late to Take a Stitch on Tuesday (TAST) with these stitches. It took some time to get the hang of the twisted chain stitch, and then to alternate the direction of that stitch... The thread tends to knot if you aren't vigilant. I took out and re-did several lines of stitching more than once. Several times I almost threw in the towel. Was it worth it? When I finally got the hang of the stitch, it became more fun and I do like the horizontal lines in the photo. They seem playful. It gave me a sense of accomplishment to tackle these difficult stitches.
