This is a link to an exhibit of textiles (kimono and obi) produced by the Tawaraya workshop in Kyoto Japan.  I was recently in Washington DC (before the storm and power outages June 29) and visited this exhibit at The Textile Museum, 2320 S Street NW, Washington, D.C., 2008-4088, phone 202-667-0441.  The exhibit will be there from March 23 to August 12, 2012.  The items on display were just so amazingly beautiful.  There were examples of kimono made for members of the imperial family and examples of historical reproductions of fabrics from Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples.  If you are in the Washington area, this is worth a visit.

Jersey (UK) Textile Showcase 2012 from 5th until 11th march. Does anybody know something about this ? Or is anybody going ther perhaps ? They have a big advertisement in Stitch magazine. By the way I am from Holland, so Jersey could mean a nice little Holyday for me .

"MADE for the Holidays" a small show of artists and crafts people in the Stratford area. That's Stratford, Ontario. Saturday December 4+5 , in an old store front, 90 Wellington St. From 10 am-5pm. There are a few of us who are textile artists. Best Wendy

I've made up a blog/photo album of the Waverley Patchworkers Quilt show that I went to last Sunday. You can see it here.

Hello, I'm new here, but I have a question/suggestion. Could you put the location of the activity/class etc is in the beginning of your post? I'm in the states in Pennsylvania, so I'm mostly interested in things near here. Thanks
