I am getting ready to embroidery two kitchen tea towels. One towel is white with blue striping/edges and the other is plan white. I will be picking two designs from Aunt Martha's Java Break. I just can't decide which two I want to use.
Michelle,
What a great pattern! I love the "Coffee" design (cup of coffee w/ cupcake) it's too cute. I can see why it's so hard to decide - you know what this means? You'll just have to get more towels to embroider!! Have fun.
Michelle, have you picked your design yet? I just love the vintage tramsfers. Idon't do hand embroidedry even though I've tried it, but I want to use them for embroidering with my machine. I do computerized designs. My fingers get too tired by trying to do by hand. Post some pic's when you are done. Good Luck. karen
They are really cute designs for teatowels! I think I like the cup cake and coffee one too.
I've been working on a teatowel which was supposed to be for a friend's birthday in April but I've got sidetracked, so she might get it for Christmas...
It is from a packet of designs of 'dancing vegetables', and has a bunch of celery dancing with a teapot - corny but cute!
Hi Everyone,
Yes, I picked a design. I put two together. LOL I am going to try and upload a file, so you can see it. My friend does not eat cupcakes or other sweats, so I didn't pick that one. I would have, because I like sweats, but I don't like coffee. LOL I wish I had cut out the square pattern in the cup, so I could use something more exciting for the design. For this cup I am going to use the stem stitch and the square pattern will be done in back stitch and then an X the where the lines cross. This will probably be done in a goldish color. The Coffee is done in #938, cup is one strand of 931 and one strand of 932. The saucer will be done in two strands of 931. I want to fill the cup with a coffee color, but haven't picked that out yet. 938 is too dark and the other color I have is too light. LOL Good thing there are a gazillion DMC colors to pick from.
Gina E, I love those Dancing Veggies. I thought I had that one, but I don't. I do have Happy Fruit and another one I can't think of the name. I have attached a picture of the Happy Fruits. I'll see if I can find the photo of the other ones I have done. So far I have only done teatowels. I don't sew well, so haven't done the pillow or aprons that I really want to do. =)
Michelle, I really like what you're doing with the towels. The dancing veggies are terrific - where does the pattern come from? I'd like to embroider them on a towel as well. Great job and I like the colors as well,
Hi Kath. I am sorry I didn't post a link to that before. I have bought my favorite patterns from Pattern Bee. You can find the dancing fruit under kitchen towels, and then under Dancing Dishes and Veggie Heads. I hope that is what you were looking for. My favorite pattern is not on her website, so I must have gotten it somewhere else. I'll have to post pictures of it later. It is dishes and veggies.
PatternBee is a great woman to order from. I get her stuff quickly and she is very kind.
Hi, I am getting ready to work on a set of dish towels for my daughter's birthday this summer. It wil probably take me that long to do them. I will take pictures when done and post them. I love seeing what other people do. It inspires me to get busy on my own things. Have a good day, DeeDee
Hi DeeDee, I'm looking forward to seeing your dish towel set! Isn't it funny how most of these old transfers end up being worked on tea towels or hand towels? But I guess they don't really fit tablecloths and doilies, LOL.
I am just working on them now I am doing some sets for my daughters for Christmas. I will get some photos up soon, I have so far done seven with cartoon fruits and started the coffee ones last night I have four daughters and have set a goal of five tea towels each.
Wow good goal Joyce. I Hope you meet the goal and share photo's. Another item I like to stitch on are pillow cases. Not the dancing veggies but other items like the old fashion deer and lasy daisy flowers. I usually add sweet dreams or something like that too. They are always welcome as Christmas presents in my family. Debbie S.
